This Privacy Policy describes how My Favorite Things ("the app", "we") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely as a salted hash — we never store your plain-text password).
• Content you create: Places, notes, ratings, tags, reward account details, family member names, and photos or videos you choose to save in the app.
• Location data (optional): If you grant location permission, the app uses your device location to suggest nearby places when adding a favorite. Location is used on-device for this feature and stored only as part of a place you choose to save.
• Purchase information: If you subscribe to Premium, purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive purchase tokens to verify your subscription status but never see your payment details.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the app's core features: saving, organizing, and syncing your favorite places and reward accounts across your devices.
• To authenticate your account and keep your data secure.
• To verify subscription entitlements.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Media files are stored in private cloud object storage accessible only through authenticated requests. All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.

Community Features

If you choose to share a place with the community, the place details and reviews you post become visible to other users of the app. Your email address is never shown to other users.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app, which permanently deletes your account and all associated data (places, rewards, media, and reviews) from our servers.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
